Our “60-second pitch”

We’re a small (but beautifully formed) web design & consultancy business, based in Watford, UK. Much of the work we do comes from recommendations and word of mouth, and therefore many of our clients are based in Hertfordshire, London and the South East, but we have got clients across the UK and now into Europe.

Blackbox was formed back in 2012, and initially focused just on web design. Over time, we’ve seen that many of our small business clients are looking for a complete ‘one-stop-shop’ service and so we have introduced complementary services including web and email hosting, marketing tools such as campaign management and social media marketing, as well as customer relationship management systems and broader consultancy services.

Being a small business, we understand small businesses. We like to try to earn clients’ trust by charging as little as possible to remain profitable, but doing a bang-up job. We rely on building long term partnerships with clients, so it’s in our interest to keep our clients happy.

We charge honest, reasonable fees. We work on the basis that if you’re happy with what you pay and you’re happy with the result, you’ll stick around and we can continue to work together over time – that makes it worthwhile for us.

We work hard to keep costs down. That means that we do the work ourselves, including providing website hosting facilities, so that there are less 3rd party costs for us to pass on to you. We’re also firm believers in using well developed, secure, ‘open source’ software systems as the basis for your website. This keeps the cost of the technology itself way down.

We don’t take on every project that comes our way – our strength is providing value and results to small businesses, and so if we’re not the ‘right man for the job’, we’ll be up front about that.

We’ve also got over 15 years’ experience in business management, strategy planning and consultancy, so we like to think that we can offer some broader business insight too.
